Common questions about PromptPay QR codes and splitting bills

Does a PromptPay QR with my photo still work?

Yes. The photo is only the design around the code. The payment data inside is the same as on any PromptPay QR, so every Thai banking app scans it.

How does splitting a bill work?

Take a photo of the receipt. SlipDee reads the items, you tick who had what, and everyone gets their own PromptPay QR with exactly their share.

Does SlipDee touch my money?

No. Payments go straight from your friend's bank to yours through PromptPay. SlipDee makes the codes and keeps track of who has paid.

Can I keep all my slips in one place?

Yes. Every slip and bill lands in your spending diary, sorted by month, together with standing payments and a monthly budget.

Which banks work with SlipDee?

Every bank in Thailand that supports PromptPay, for example Kasikorn, SCB, Bangkok Bank, Krungthai and Krungsri. Your friends pay from the banking app they already use.

Do my friends need an account?

No. They open the link you send in LINE or WhatsApp, see their share and pay with their banking app.

Can SlipDee tell me if a slip is fake?

SlipDee reads the reference in the slip's QR code and warns you when the same slip is shown twice. A full check against the bank is available as well.

Does SlipDee work with LINE?

Yes. Sign in with LINE, and send a slip to the SlipDee LINE account to have it read into your diary.
